The Seattle Asian Art Museum (SAAM) the crown jewel of the city is located at the Volunteer Park. Overlooking the reservoir, SAAM is always on the hot-spot-for-weddings list. The Seattle Art Museum rose in 1991 is now ranked in the top 10 collections of Asian art outside Asia that includes the Japanese Bijinga i.e. a beautiful women, Literati which is a self-expression and Yamotoe which are landscapes paintings. The Children's Museum

Get your kids to the Children's Museum and just turn them loose. It becomes difficult to keep a track, as they are busy trying to learn about Filipino, Japanese and African cultures, learn how do the doctors take care of their patients and also learn to run a grocery store or fast-food restaurant. The first thing you see after entering is the Air Force One and the number of airplanes shoved inside will surprise you. The best place for kids here is the mock tower overlooking Boeing Field. There are exhibitions held on the golden age of flying and on interesting displays showing building and working of planes. Don't forget to visit the gift shop on the way and do buy some ice cream that NASA astronauts eat.

American Museum of Radio

One of the coolest attractions in downtown, the American Museum of Radio is evolved into a world-class, extremely interactive, one-of-a-kind exhibit of more than 1,200 antique artifacts and promises to grow. The museum is in the process of moving to a new location and shares its interests in the historical development of radio communications from the 1600s to today. The updated official website for the museum gives you all the information and explains some of the storefront's future exhibits as well.

Edmonds Historical Museum

The Historical Society of Edmonds took over the former library and city hall to pay tribute to the city and enhance the city's progress. The rotating exhibit gallery on the top floor of the regal brick and stone building depicts old and new Edmonds through its displays. There is an extensive photo archive and a research library at the workrooms and administrative offices both open to the public. "The Changing Faces of Edmonds" is an encapsulated, thematic and chronological display of the city's history.

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park

Country's smallest national park, the Klondike is located in a small building in the Pioneer Square Area. The rangers have to offer a variety of interesting and educational programs for the people visiting the park. This historical park features gold-panning demonstrations, walking tours of historic Pioneer Square and several different audio-visual presentations about the Gold Rush. Deception Pass State Park

Located 2 hours North of Seattle, Deception Pass State Park is one of the state's most popular spots for hikers, fishers, bird-watchers and campers. The park features 30miles of trails, which is used throughout the year, a rustic, 65-person overnight facility at North Beach, and a campground with 256 sites. There are plenty of picnic shelters, toilets and parking spaces available in the park for the day-trippers. In summers there are thousands of visitors coming to see the famed Deception Pass Bridge exhibiting a marvel of delicate architecture and to glimpse the bald eagles that nest in the park.

There is a spectacular 240-foot wide waterfall emptying into a small reflecting pool at the center of the park. The half-mile park's walkway is perfect for a little bit of mid-day exercise. The park features picnic tables, benches and lots of areas walking and running around. At the south of the park there's a small children's play area with a large castle, swings and plenty of elbowroom.

Boasting some of the best crops in the area, Remlinger Farms is just about 45 minutes from Seattle. Visit Carnation where there is a family-run farm well known for its juicy berry pies and feel as if in heaven. Summers include strawberries and raspberries. For kids there's a steam train, a market, and a restaurant available to move around.

Biringer Farms in summers is very well known for crops of berries, which are fashioned into "Pies-In- A-Bag" and shortcakes available at the local fairs. There are tours offered during berry season at the Mike and Diana Biringer's farm wherein there are various activities available for kids and an option of picking up your own berries is available as well. Fall season is mobbed for the Biringer's harvest festival, which includes a Pumpkin Patch Adventure.

Forest Park Animal Farm

Operating between April 28 and September 3 this beautiful and expansive Forest Park is the site of the Animal Farm located just north of Seattle in Everett the park is a perfect getaway for city kids. You can see a wide variety of animals such as rabbits, ducks, pigs, goats, calves, ponies and llamas. Kids are touch, feel, learn and ask questions here. In summers are plenty of ongoing special events planned. The nearby parklands are great to explore making it a nice area to have a leisurely picnic.
